Finger Painting

The pair of father and son did finger painting this afternoon.  That was when I remembered I took some photos few weeks ago when they last did finger painting together.

Dec loves finger painting or should I say he loves messing himself up with paint.  He prefers to use his hands than to use brushes.  We will only let him do finger painting at our own home and not at Ah Ma’s place.  This is because Ah Ma’s place is too cluttered up and there is a danger of him smearing every other piece of furniture within his reach.  Up at our own place, at least we are able to give him a clearance radius with his both arms extended.

He will usually start his session with sponge printing, before proceeding to finger painting and then hands printing.

It’s been awhile since he attempted foot printing.  The last time he did that was at Fannie’s place. Phewwwwww…. Can you imagine how messy it’ll get when he do his foot printing??

After attempting hand printing, it’ll be time he starts smearing his paint everywhere and flooding the piece of paper.

The final process is – BODY PAINTING!

See how comfortable he is with his own mess??  If it’s me, I’ll feel all sticky and yucky.  He seems to enjoy the mess……

Wondering why I didn’t join the boys?  Not that I am afraid of mess…. I’m nursing my queasiness in bed….  I guess a tad too many people ask whether I have morning sickness and my constant reply of no is getting back at me……  I’ve started feeling queasy in the evening.  Usually knock off time will be the time I feel a bit nauseated.  However still not too bad.  The tiredness is still there.

Today, the queasiness started early.  While the boys were painting, I was snoozing in bed…. I spent most of my Sunday in bed…. I slept away most part of it.

Warning!! Long Post Ahead!

Wanted to do a more detailed sharing of my recent Japan trip but am really feeling very very lazy and the constant tiredness really took my motivation away.  Nevertheless, I manage to pull some strength together to post some photos.

Many of my fellow team mates wished to dine the “tatami” style, thus our host granted us our wishes and brought us for “tatami” style dining.  CEO complained:” Some how I just can’t keep my leg crossed and I feel really uncomfortable sitting this way.”  Ha!  I was totally comfortable with that sitting position except I was unable to sit in a kneeling position like what the Japanese ladies usually did, so I did it the men style – crossed my legs.

Cute and huge teddy bear which I spotted in Nagoya.  So cuddly!  A perfect huggie partner for cold weather!

We didn’t have much time for sightseeing.  The only place of interest that we managed to go is Kaiyukan – one of the largest aquarium in the world, focusing on the Ring of Fire and Ring of Life.  If anyone of you ever go to Osaka and you happen to like marine life Kaiyukan is a must go!  Why?  Because it is one of the 2 aquariums that housed a whale shark! I was really awed!

This is the best picture that I could capture for the whale shark, pardon the poor quality, it’s due to the poor lightings.

Before I went to the aquarium, I already tasked myself to take loads of pictures back for Declan to view.  He loved marine life.  It’s a pity that he was not there with me, if not I’m very sure we would be able to spend a very enjoyable day together.  In order to capture the clown fish and Dory look-alike fish, I ended up hogging in front of the tank for a long long while waiting for these 2 species to surface.  I did manage to snap the pic, but resolution not so good…. sigh…  But at least I managed to get other nice photos for him to enjoy which included :

The cheeky rays.

The whole troop of spider crabs.  They look really magnificent.  Just standing there posting with their legs widely spread out as if waiting for a commander to give the signal to start a war.  We also spotted a school of weirdo fishes.  Not sure of the species though.  What intrigued us was that this school of fish were all looking skywards, not moving, just keep staring upwards, as if waiting for salvation to happen.  Freaky!!  Further down the tank, spotted another similar school of fish, this time, all of them was looking downwards………  weird!

These are my favorite!!!  Not the whale shark, not the spider crabs, not the sun fish, not clown fish BUT Jelly fishes!!!!!  Aren’t they soooooo pretty!!!!!!  This tank was simply beautiful and it looks so retro with rounded blue, white and black jelly fishes bobbing everywhere!!  This is only one of the jelly fish tanks that were showcased, there were many more other species but these are my favorites!  Because I was so mesmerized by them, I ended up being the last to emerge from the aquarium visit.  The whole group of folks was waiting for me.

Now the above is a rare sight! We spotted a pair of bride and groom outside the aquarium.  According to our host, nowadays, very few couples will choose to wear the traditional Japanese wedding gown.  Many of the young couples were westernized and would prefer to go for the western bridal gown.  So, this is bonus for us.

Just right beside the aquarium, is one of the tallest ferris wheel.

This wheel stood at a height of 112.5 meters.  That photo of me was the masterpiece of my CEO.  He enthusiastically offered to take this photo for me.  He took really long to capture this pic.  He was going forward and backwards, squatting down, standing up etc.  I was wondering why he took so long to snap the pic.  After he was done, he proudly announced :” I was trying to make you look like ‘Guan Yin’ aka the Goddess of Mercy” ……………………………………

Included in our Nagoyo itinery was a trip to “Toyota City” where the toyota plant is.  My organization is a big fan of “The Toyota Production System” thus, that explained the reason why a visit to its production plant was part of our study trip.  Don’t think you guys would be very keen to know what went on in the plant right?  So, I’ll just share with you pics on the “Sakura Rain” that showered on me there.  What’s “Sakura Rain”?  Just look at the pics below!

Nice hor?!  Pink Sakura petals flying everywhere!  I felt as if I was taking my wedding photo leh!  BUT! It’s fake.  The “sakura rain” came from the hands of our team mates.  The below photo will solve the mystery of the “Sakura Rain”

These folks actually scooped the sakura petals from the road and threw them towards us to create the “sakura rain” effect.  The guy whose face got covered was actually our CEO.  Couldn’t imagine a man of his age and status could still be so playful and game to indulge in such silly actions with us huh?

Last but not least, would like to share the photos of the shop fronts and signages in Osaka.  They are really so vibrant and they really add alot of life to the shopping district!

My Lunch

Oh my god! I can’t come to terms with what I ate for lunch today.  All along I won’t be able to finish a MacDonald’s value meal by myself.  I’ll usually leave behind a mouthful or 2 of the burger and probably a quarter of the fries.

Guess what I ate today??!!  I ate a full MacChicken Meal , UPSIZE + a box of MacWings!

God help meeeeeeeeeee!!  I’ve already put on weight on my face.  If this goes on how how how????  The last time it was a total of 19.5kg that I put on, this time will it go pass the 20kg mark???!!! I really, sincerely hope it will not……

7 weeks update

I’m in my 7th week now (roughly……. I’m always lousy at keeping track of dates).  I’ve since nicknamed our new addition Beanie.

Here’s a peek of tiny beanie :

I bet you can hardly see anything.  Anyway Beanie measures about 6.6mm as of 16th April 2007.

I’ m one of those more fortunate ones that don’t suffer much from morning sickness, even when I was carrying Dec.  The only thing that is bothering me now is my constant tiredness.  I can sleep the whole day through.  Every evening, after work, I’ll come home dragging my feet with my eyelids half closed.  I’ll not be surprised if I fall asleep half way through my walk home from the train station.  The constant fatigue is also the reason why the frequency of my postings are not as tight as before.

Other than fatigue, my mouth is tasteless all day long….  Thus I will go for food with stronger taste to get rid of the “tastelessness”.  Unlike my last pregnancy, when I don’t have much cravings, this time, the cravings had kicked in early.  That is like, now.  This evening, I went for curry chicken noodle, yummy yummy! Something which I had craved for the last few days.  Another craving that is waiting to be satisfied is Old Chang Kee’s curry puff.  There isn’t any Old Chang Kee store around Clementi, so I may need to wait a little while longer to get that curry puff.

When I was expecting Dec, I hardly eat anything during my first trimester, resulting in a weight loss of about 3kg.  This time, appetite is still quite ok at this point of time.  Early this eveing, I felt hungy, so I ate 2 slice of bread with cheese, 1 mug of apple juice and an apple.  After all these…. I’m still hungry…. That’s when I decided to go for my curry chicken noodle :p  Let’s hope I’ll be able to keep tab of what I eat and not balloon too much……

Should I continue?

I am attempting my final theory test again on 11th May.  I booked the date 2 months back.  Now I am in a dilemma…. I’m thinking should I go ahead with my driving lessons?  Or should I wait till after my delivery?  Will there be any implications on my health and safety if I persist on?  Have anyone seen a heavily pregnant woman taking a driving test before???

Also, if I am to push myself to clear as many lessons as possible so that I can get my license very quickly (hopefully), that will also equates to additional burden on my pockets in addition to the money we have to put aside for receiving our new addition

I need opinions!!!

The 2 boys at Pulau Ubin

Both boys went to Pulau Ubin in my absence.  Seems like they have a really great time there, just that my poor little boy came back with mozzie kisses all over.  So… they can really survive pretty well without me.  hmmmph!  Our last trip to Pulau Ubin was when I was 6 weeks pregnant with Declan.  Then, I didn’t even know that I was expecting and  was happily ridding along on the bumpy roads on the island followed by a Sashimi dinner.

I’m about 6 weeks 4days old now and seems like it’ll be another one year or 2 before I can join my boys on another riding outing…………

Kiat’s friend took quite a few nice pictures of them with the little boy looking quite cool. ha!

Now comes my favorite pic!  My cooooolll little boy!!!

Japan – Nagoya

Ladies/Mummies and all the well wishers, thanks for sharing my joy and giving me all the good advice in my last 2 post.  I’m posting from Japan – Nagoya now.  So far, everything is fine, I am taking my folic acid and my pills faithfully, though I sometimes miss 1 or 2 :p

I just arrive in Nagoya 2 hours ago by bullet train.

That’s me in the bullet train, holding the sacred banana rewarded to me by my CEO.  I’ve been constipated since the day I arrived….. Total 4 days worth of breakfasts, lunches and dinners all stored in my bowels and it just refused to come out!!!  After eating half of that banana plus some prunes plus many many strawberries over the last 2 days, I finally manage to clear some when I arrive in my little cosy room in Nagoya

For the past many days, when we were in Tokyo, there wasn’t any internet connection in our hotel.  It was a real delight to discover that the Hamilton Hotel that we are staying in Nagoya have internet connection in the rooms!  What’s more –  we are given one room each as they charged on a per head basis.  The room is really nice!

See?? A queen size bed all to myself!  It’s been a long time since I enjoyed such peace and space.  Their rooms looks more like private apartment then hotel room. Very cosy.

They even have a decent working desk with the room.

I’m not gonna be long winded here.  Got a long long day ahead tomorrow.  I shall show you some of the must see pics first!

What else is must see in Japan either than SAKURA right????  So happen it’s Spring now.  Temperature ranges between 11 to 17 degrees for the past few days.  So far, we didn’t get to see a whole park of Sakura like what we always see on TV.  We only manage to spot one tree here one tree there and some rows along the road.  Never had a chance to get off our transport to take photos until the last day in tokyo, while venturing out in the night we spotted one tree at the back of the hotel!!!!!!!! and the next morning my colleague spotted another one further up the first tree!

This was the first tree we spotted the night before.

This is the tree we spotted early this morning.  Phew!  I finally got my wish of taking photos of this beautiful tree.

The next photo which I really want to show you all are these!

Of course the must see thingy is not me lah… it’s the body of water behind me!  That’s PACIFIC OCEAN.

How cool it is to be able to sit by the sit, sip coffee and watch the ocean crashing pass.  That’s just what some of the Japs are doing.  See the pair of grandparents with their little grandkid?  So serene but cold lah…..  Can you imagine that there is a hospital just facing the pacific ocean and most of their patients enjoy the ocean view??  awwwwww….. I don’t mind being ill man!  choy!

Ok so much for now!  Gotta go catch my zzzzssss…. night night!
